In our continuing effort to bring “World Class Golf” to you, our golfing family, we have made some subtle changes to the golf course:
- Superintendent Jason Pautsch and his staff have lowered the rough cut to 1.5 inches throughout the course.
- He is allowing rough to grow in certain areas that are currently fairway cut, but have significant slope: right of #1, the end of the landing area on #11, left of #12 & end of the landing area on #13).
- Hazards and hazard lines are being adjusted:
- On #1 and #17, the fairway-side stakes remain as usual, but the opposite side stakes have been removed, meaning the hazards extend “to infinity” up the corresponding hillsides. This allows you to take Lateral Hazard relief without finding your ball by determining point of entry and dropping on the fairway side of the hazards. On #17, traditional lateral hazard marking resumes at roughly the “barber pole” and continues up the entire right side.
- On #11, the entire lake fronting the green is now lateral hazard, allowing you to drop on the green side of the lake if your ball clears the hazard in the air and then rebounds down into the lake.
- On #12, the right side hazard stakes have been moved almost to the cart path and then gradually return to the creek.
- Future planned or ongoing projects:
- Championship tee box on #1 to be significantly enlarged and reshaped.
- New Championship tee box on #2 above and behind current location (the panoramic view is sensational!).
- Cleaning and repainting of all tee monuments.
- Addition of new silver tee monuments for the “senior tees.”
- A new “first cut” of rough approximately 10 – 12 feet wide cut at 1”on every hole.
These changes will absolutely enhance the pace of play, clarify where you are legally allowed to drop and provide an easier transition as you move around the course. We also welcome your comments and criticisms!
